Head north from SLC on I-15/I-84, stay on I-15 into Idaho, then US-20 at Idaho Falls straight to West Yellowstone. Easy drive. Expect construction. There's always construction.:)

X2 Excellent advice. Be sure to take a day trip south to see the Tetons, well worth the time. Also a day trip up to Silver Gate and Cooke City then to the top of the world via the Beartooth Hwy, just don't take your coach.
