Traveling the back roads
How many others take the secondary highway rather than the interstates? We like the little towns along the way. you miss a lot on the freeways.

We have a large highway map of the USA and keep track of every one of our trips. The next time we go to a destination we always try to take a different route. Some times we are well of of the secondary roads and on some questionable roads but we have always gotten to our destination.
One thing we have found out is that fuel is consistently cheaper off of the interstates and there is a lot more to see. Some of the fabulous small towns we have passed through have since become "new" destinations that we go back to when we get a chance.
