Sorry I wasn't too clear on my reply.
The 120 over Tioga Pass is great for Miata's but not motorhomes.
I've done the coastal route several times. Going through San Francisco on 101 requires you to study the map of the city the night before so you know exactly where to turn and it helps if the co-pilot is watching the route signs as you pass through. I've always thought it would be fun to work as a bus driver in San Francisco.
We will doing that same coastal route this June/July time frame. Nice and cool along the coast compared to our area.
