If you can rig up some safe manner of putting the carrier on the front of the motorhome (without blocking the lights or radiator air flow sufficiently to be a concern), that would probably work out a lot better from a weight and balance point of view than a rear mounted carrier. It may not be possible or practical to do this. There are front-mounted hitch systems around for the Ford and probably Chevy van chassis, at least. (Your profile says you have a Monaco Knight, which doesn't appear to me to be a class C?)
