Traveling with kids and no bunks?
Hi folks,
We are a family of 4, generally camp about a week at a time with a few weekends here and there. Planning on a few cross country trips as the kids grow up, and will buy a Class A before we do that. Hopefully next year making the purchase.
My problem is I like Tiffin and budget-wise I think I can only swing a 2005 Allegro Bay 34XB for example, while 08 was when the bunks started to appear in the Open Road (35QBA). About a $20k difference from what I've seen ... maybe more. Everyone seems proud of the 35QBA.
I'm considering buying a non-bunkhouse, but we've been used to bunks ever since we remember with the kids. They are now 5 and 8.
My thinking is that they are getting older and will start to be up as late as us when on vacation (in fact they are starting to do that now). So no more days of "putting them in their room and try not to wake them up."
I'd like to hear some experiences from people who are camping in a MH without bunks and what you do... and if you wish you had bunks. Another consideration is my kids are growing up to be tall ... the sofa bed will work for my oldest but my youngest will outgrow the dinette dimensions in a few years.
I could buy what I can afford now and get on the road and upgrade later - BTDT and could do it again.
Thanks!
