traveling

We are new to RVing. 40' Winnebago with toad
we are traveling to Ohio with short stops along the way.
We are presently in Lake City, FL. We plan to take 441 from here and head north. Could someone tell if this is a good road to travel? Are there mountainous areas or other driving conditions we should be aware of. Also what about good places to stay for overnight. Thanks for your help. Pam

  • The road is fine through Georgia. If you are worried about mountains, the North Carolina portion will not be to your liking. Just north of Franklin there is an up and down 8% grade. Although it is steep, it is a beautiful drive and your rig should manage(mine does going up...not so good down). Above Cherokee it gets pretty hairy through the National Park. I won't try that in my rig.
