That Pacific Coast along 101, except for Ocean Shores, is very "small town". Across the southern edge of the Strait of Juan de Fuca (Port Angeles & Port Townsend) it gets a bit more "citifed" and that's where most of the tourist action is (Hurricane Ridge, the ferry to Victoria and the well preserved late 19th century aura of Port Townsend).
Are you planning to go round the east side of the peninsula on 101 back to Olympia or come across to Whidbey Island on the ferry from PT?
