I agree on the test drive. I rode in a gas MH and knew it wasn't what I wanted. I purchased a 10 YO DP as my first. I had pulled a travel trailer for 19 years. Annual maintenance will be $300-400, assuming nothing else breaks. Truth is things break. This year on my now 15 YO MH the blower motor in my Aqua Hot died, a rebuild cost ~$1200. Ride height linkage rotted apart. $75 for three of them. Etc. Windshield need reset, $????.
I would highly recommend MHOT. I will buy my next MH from them. Nearly bought a beautiful Intrigue from them last year, built a house instead. If you buy a MH in good shape $5k will be enough to cover you for the unexpected. Learning curve can be steep.
Enjoy the journey!
