Hi rgatijnet1 and all, What you're saying is its a gamble either way isn't it? But I never considered having a new coach that's under warrantee that you can't use 1000 miles from home. To have a motorhome is to travel and you're saying it doesn't apply out of town! What kind of a warranty is that or did I misunderstand what you said?
I've heard people say that their happiest day was the day they got their boat. And the next happiest is when the got rid of it! Is that true of a motorhome? I think my BIG point of confusion is with Older Folks like myself! (and this is the only place I'd make such an admission), I see so many seniors with motorhomes and I just can't picture so many having them if its constant breakdown issues and money outlay?
I mean, who wants to do something that is trouble all the time? New or used I'm just thinking I should be able to go from Florida to Colorado without a major breakdown and $5,000.00 in expense.
I'm willing to do everything mentioned. Have the coach inspected stem to stern by a pro, perform scheduled maintenance, take care of things as they break etc. But then I want to enjoy the coach both on the road and off! Seriously, is that too much to ask? Or do you need to approach a motorhome experience based on "if it can go wrong it will go wrong"?
And I'm not stupid, I understand this is a huge vehicle that has everything and more than a stick house. But this one is on wheels with an engine and many moving parts, I understand that I really do.
I know you are all trying to help me understand what can happen which I appreciate very much. I guess I just need some assurance that most trips are fun! Or is it all misery, suffering and going through wads of money?
Somehow I don't see you guys jumping in your coach with the idea of "oh this will be a wonderful trip, just think of all the things that can and will go wrong"!
