Hi rgatijnet1 and all, What you're saying is its a gamble either way isn't it? But I never considered having a new coach that's under warrantee that you can't use 1000 miles from home. To have a motorhome is to travel and you're saying it doesn't apply out of town! What kind of a warranty is that or did I misunderstand what you said?
If your NEW coach, or a used coach for that matter, suffers a catastrophic failure 1000 miles away from home, what do you do? If it is new, you have it towed to the nearest facility that can repair it, but, and this is what I meant, who takes care of you and your family? The coach may be laid up for a month or more and you need to get back home. Guess who pays for your transportation, room, meals, etc? That is all up to you and not covered by any warranty. Some people on this forum have waited months for their coach to be repaired. Are you going to stay in a motel during that time or are you going to have to pay for your way home to wait, only to have to pay for your way back to pick up the motor home. My point was that even the best warranty does not cover any of the expenses you incur by being stranded a long way from home with a coach that is unusable.
Traveling with a motor home involves certain risks that you have to accept, and that is the gamble. Most of us accept the risks, but we also are aware of what can go wrong. The more you can repair on your own coach, the better off you are.
