trying to decide Class A or Class C (super?)

Comparing a Jayco Seneca 37 to a Class A. Any suggestions for me to consider. Thinking I might prefer driving a Class C over a Class A.
Thanks,
Chris

  • If you get a diesel pusher you ride on air bags, otherwise you're on stiff truck springs.

Do you meed three doors and the space they take up? Do the front two seats turn around and become part of the living area?

For non-chassis stuff any RV shop can handle that stuff.

If I knew how I would have inserted a smily of some kind.

  • You just don't see many in the RV Parks. Not sure why?
  • They both have pros and cons. Which one do you like, that's the important thing?

C's may be a little easier to get serviced, or find a shop that will service it. And, they may be safer because of the cab.

I like Class A myself but, would consider a C if I found the right one.
  • Back when we still had our TT I looked at going to a Seneca Diesel so we went out shopping and finally found one in Bend, OR. Looked forward to seeing one for the first time with high hopes. It took less than one minute to realize that:

    A) There was no more living area than our 26' TT.
    B) The area over the cab was sheer wasted space for 2 people.
    C) The inside was of the same quality as our Cougar.

I suspect it would be great for a young couple with kids but for us it was a disappointment.

The salesman, seeing our disappointment, took us to a 40' Class A...forget what it was but that was quite a revelation. Only 4 ft longer but a world of difference and we never looked back.

Later we met a couple you had downsized from a class A to the Seneca and was so disappointed they sold it 3 months later and went back to a class A. That little excursion cost them 80K. They also said the ride and handling was horrible.

Still for the right family they would be a great coach.
  • Class As are more fun to drive, and you can see a lot more as you drive. IMHO.
  • One thing that I looked at was access to the coach from the Super Cs. It seemed a little difficult. I ruled out the C over a class A for that reason.
  • If you end up off the beaten path, pushers have the potential to suck up all the dust kicked up by the tires...
