My only issue with the cabover bed was that it was hotter up there in the Summer. We had a reversible fan over the cabover bed which helped.
We changed from a cabover to the corner bed as we got older....wife was concerned about climbing up and down in the middle of the night. If you are a comfortable size and don't have any medical issues I think the cabover bed works great...personal opinion.
We sleep together. When it gets cold it is much warmer and comfortable when you have some one to cuddle with, that is...as soon as I get her feet warmed up ;-).
