We got tired of the foot and knee pain of climbing the ladder and sleeping in the overhead, small cargo compartment, and little cabinet space in our old 23 foot Class C and finally bought a 2004 Fleetwood Tioga 26Q. Model 26Q is no longer available but there are similar rigs still being made. It has a rear bedroom, RV Queen size bed, huge cargo bay with access doors on three sides and lights. The dinette makes into a small lumpy bed and there is the overhead bed for kids or storage plus adequate cabinets and drawers. No slides, nothing fancy. Short rigs have some advantages in 'parkability" but many disadvantages in sleeping comfort and irritation of "clutter" and not being able to find things, which can get on your nerves in a few days. Don't be overawed by 27 footers vs 22-24 footers, you will quickly get used to 3 or 4 more feet of overall length. just make sure that your rig fits your driveway.
