Not all cabover beds are the same distance up from the living area floor, so all ladders up to them are not the same length.
For instance, our Itasca 324V Class C is kindof tall at around 11'5", but has the coach floor raised about 6 inches above the cab floor. At the same time the cabover bed, because of the coach's ceiling height, is not confining so you can easily sit up on the edge of it. Because of the raised coach floor the ladder is not real long, and the ladder has broad steps on each rung so it's easy on the bare feet.
Winnie also supplied an excellent 6" heavy foam for the cabover bed mattress, so it's very comfortable. Our cabover area is not hot in the summer for sleeping because we run the fan in it's ceiling blowing out all night drawing from an open rear window, so cool air is constantly passing right across me. I sleep up there all the time and I'm 6'2" at around 230 lbs..
Like Class C motorhomes in general not all cabovers are the same, so you have to look for a good cabover area when shopping for a used or new Class C.
