To clarify a bit: The plan for truck stops/Walmarts is only during transit to a destination. Easy in, easy out.
We have an old Fleetwood Prowler 5th wheel that is 25'. It is adequate, size wise. A little more room for longer trips would be nice, but if there is a noticeable mpg impact, 28' will work.
I thought there would be more of a difference in Class A vs Class C mpg, for a given length. I thought the Class A chassis were much heavier, hence the higher GVW. Guess not.
Also, I did not know that a Class A would turn tighter than a typical Class C.
