Ultra Vent Covers

I've never used vent covers before, but this rig came with the Maxair II covers. I'm trying to like them, but other then they are white and I would have preferred black, they seem to really cut down the flow over what I'm used to without them. Before I toss them in favor of the Fantastik Ultra as shown in this video, any testimonials out there for them?

  • They do cut down on air a lot. I like them as I leave them open when the rig is parked, keeps it much cooler in the summer. I also keep them open in the winter for ventilation under the cover.

  • The screen on the Max is huge and I doubt there is any restriction at the volumes we are talking about here. All they do is keep leaves out. I still and will always have the Fantastic screens in anyway
  • The vent in the link above does allow for more airflow as it is taller that any of the competition shown. I installed MaxxairII vent covers several years back and for one they do not sit flat on the roof. They provide ample airflow for our powered vent fans and as such we don't see a need to replace unless they deteriorate.

Another thing noted in the video is that the bug screen was installed in the competing vents but the ultra vent did not have it installed as they were very careful to only show the sides when placing over fan. Bug screen is sold separately and will diminish airflow a bit when installed. Enjoy your new vent covers.

I put two of them over our Fantastic vents and wouldn't get rid of them. The vents are rarely closed now, even in the rain. And everything on the fan stays cleaner too. BTW I tried all the others before the Max 2

Did you try that Ultra Breeze?

  • The ones that I have(Camco) on mine are not flat on the roof there is a space between the vent and the roof for more air flow they IMHO are more for keeping the rain and snow out when the vents are open the air flow not that big of deal
