IF (not necessarily saying it is) the refrigerator, turn it off immediately until you prove it is not, turn it OFF. Risking a fire is not worth it.
As others have asked, use your nose to locate the SOURCE of the odor;
Water (water heater).
Refrigerator (inside) and at the outside access door.
Batteries (bad battery or overcharging).
Gray or black tank-- lack of water in P trap, back check valve, bad vent.
