unusual smell
late today my wife and I picked up a smell that smells like the chemical used in giving a woman a permanet. My wife has not had a permanet recently. We cannot find anything in the MH that gives off ...

Most bathroom and kitchen sinks are not vented to the outside. Check under them for a smell. If it is strong, then the air check valve needs replacing.
Sorta.....
The sinks don't need to be 'vented' to outside. Grey tank vent to roof provides that.
The 'P' trap provides a vapor barrier......the air admittance valve is downstream of the 'P' traps. The flapper in them is pulled open when draining grey tank so that the 'p' traps don't get sucked dry. That is their purpose.
And yes....if the flapper doesn't close (dried out/weak/stretched) then grey tank odors can come back into the inside of rig. Which stinks, more like a sewer smell than a 'beauty parlor' hair treatment smell.
That smell is more than likely the ammonia from crakced cooling unit of fridge.
Which OP would post back what was found.
