Up Dating a JVC GPS

We have a JVC radio with a build in GPS. We are trying to get up dates by down loading a Micro SD card from our computer but we are not having any luck. The manual does not tell us much, so any help would be appreciated. After down loading the SD card and installing it we don't see any differents! Do we leave the card in or remove it?
Thanks for any comments!

I have the same unit. Are you asking about Firmware updates or map updates? Firmware updates are free and downloadable from the Kenwood jVC support website. Map updates are not free and are only available from the map source, NAVTEQ at the ridiculous price of $140.00.
  • Have you registered the unit?
If it doesn't do updates automatically, I would call JVC support. The manual and on line doesn't show any updating information for your unit. Unless I missed it somewhere!
You may input the model KW-NT1. It gives pretty good information for that unit.
  • Thanks for the information so far. The model number is KW-NT510HDT, my wife says she has been to the JVC site and it was not much help. Didn't say if we should leave card in are out, really not information at all that she understood!
  • See if this one will go through to their support.

Need model number to get to the correct download and updates.
