I'm a little lost as to why I'd want an external fuel pump. Is it a replacement so you don't have to drop the fuel tank? I had to drop mine. Not because of the pump but due to the generator fuel line cracking. It was a job to say the least. I thought about sticking in a new pump while it was out but decided if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I owned an auto repair shop for years and have replaced countless fuel pumps. Just because it's new, doesn't mean it's good. Trust me. I've put brand new pumps in and they were defective. With that said,,, If I were doing it just because mine had some miles on it, I'd be sure and get a factory one. Aftermarket ones are junk.
PS: Use good quality stainless hose clamps on the generator hose.
