There was short notice to evacuate. That storm went from depression to cat 4 in 48 hours. People got out with what they could. If she had taken the RV to Corpus, where would she have put it to be safe? Is your RV more important than your life? Should people have sailed their boats out of the way? A god friend of mine lost his vacation house and boat in Port Aransas. He couldn't get down there (from houston) in time. Now he is ripping sheet rock out of his brand new home in Houston and won't be to Port Aransas for another month.
Back in the early 80's I flew a bunch of airplanes from Houston to Austin to get them out of the way of Hurricane Allen. It ended up hitting south Texas and went through Austin, spawned tornados over the airport and destroyed hundreds of planes. You never know what is going to happen with these storms.
