I have an 05 Phaeton and I have taken out the carpet and tile in the front and the bedroom and replaced with laminate. The tile was not easy to remove. You have to be care around the console in the cockpit area. You'll want to get as much tile out from under it as you can so you can slide you new product under the console. You will be happy you have done this when it is done. After the tear out the new floor goes in really fast and pretty easy. And you not talking a lot of square footage. I put in a product called quick step. It was very expensive at over $5.00 per sq. ft. It did not hold up well, lots of tiny scratches by the entry door from tracking dirt in. The slides scratched it as well. Years ago I did it in my last coach and used Pergo. That stuff help up very well. I think next time I do I will look for a product that is one color all the way through so scratches wont show.
