used class c

Hey guys, i'm starting to look at class c motorhomes. I currently own a travel trailer.

I'm looking at something in the 26-30 ft size. Permanent bed (not cab-over) is a must, couch a must & full bathroom.

What brand coach do y'all like?

What are some thing i should be aware of when looking?

Thank-you for your help

  • X3 on the walk around bed.

IMHO, the best class C is a Lazy Daze unit. They make a class C exactly how you want if. If you stumble across a used unit to your liking, be sure to check it out. Lazy Days makes super quality class C RV's to order. Also, buying a former rental RV may or may not be a good fit for you. That said, I think the former rental from a large company that refurbs them is only a good option for a minority of people. Still, worth a look if you have a local Cruise America or El Monte.

    Happy hunting!
  • Yes the walk around bed is important!! The TT we currently own is not a walk around.
  • Be very aware of the F450 platform and how longer units have the same total weight as a shorter F450. There has been some complaints recently about not being able to properly load up a 31 foot F450 because there was not enough cargo carrying capacity.

Some like counterspace, others like comfort, some like to be able to use it with the slides in, others like the room when they are all out.

We also did not need the forward bunk sleeping area, and wanted the entertainment center above the drivers area. Found a gently used 29B Outlook and love it! Pleant of room, comfortable for the two of us and the big dog and so far really glad we moved to a Class C. Like the queen walk around bed too. No corner beds for us old folks!

  • Our preference is no corner bed (makes it miserable for both if the 'inner' person has to get up during the night). We also like a side hallway floorplan (as opposed to a center one). Google "31m class c floorplan" to see what I mean. To us it just seems to give a more private feel to the bedroom. I've pretty much given up on preferring one brand over another as they all use pretty much the same brand components. Good luck and happy camping!
