Low voltage and ground connector. 12.5 is around 3/4 charge. Use a good meter for you reading. If you have a smart charger Put it on the battery and disconnect the grd cable say 10 amp for 4 hours and 2 amps till it show it charged. Then see if you have that issue. My 99 acts up when the battery get a little low.
On mine the discounnet has nothing to do with the start battery. There is no standard on how they set up things.
