Want to tow
I have a 2024 Gulf Stream class C motorhome on a Ford E450 cutaway chassis and I want to tow our Jeep with us on long trips. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any help with determining which is th...
Doesn't this MH already have a hitch installed? I think it's a 7500 # hitch although that doesn't mean you can actually tow that. You'll have to do the math to determine the tow capacity of your motorhome. Installing another/aftermarket hitch won't do a thing if your chassis can't support the tow weight. Tow capacity is always the LESSER of your hitch rating and the weight of the motorhome loaded for travel (fuel, water, food, people) minus your GCWR. You may be surprised to find it can't tow as much as you think. Dealers always rave about hitch rating but they are only part of the calculation. I've seen gas MHs with a 7500# hitch that can't even tow a car.
No, OP said doesn’t have a receiver and that’s where they’re all balled up now.
One would think if one could use the innerwebs well enough to find this old decrepit forum that one could google “trailer hitch installer near me.” But Icbw. Wouldn’t be the first time.
I can't imagine this production MH without a hitch from the factory. Every one I googled has a hitch on it. Maybe the OP has a unicorn. Maybe the OP will return and clarify.
lots of motorhomes with out hitches. the only ones I have never seen with out them are deisel pushers. nost class c's are not rated for very much as far as towing so it seams to be optional. it is not often I see a class c with one.
like I said in my previous post, if you Google this MH every pic, ad, etc that comes up, each one has a hitch. The specs state it has a 7500lb hitch. And despite the OP returning, they didn't bother to clarify. And I don't agree that a lot of new production MHs come without a hitch. I'd say its rare.
More likely a unicorn than the OP returning!
I stand corrected.
