Washing a Class A RV

I start with the roof to get the dirt off than use an extendable brush to do the sides. I read a suggestion the other day to use a leaf blower to remove the water instead of using a towel or absorber. He claims it will be spot free and doesn't require using a ladder.

I use Mequiar's Gold Class Car Wash Shampoo and Conditioner with a long handled soft bristle brush. I found a complete kit of brushes from Costco that was very reasonable.

Change the water frequently in your bucket, and use a lot of water from a hose to wet things down before and rinse after. Do it in the shade.

Yep, took me about three hours to clean the front cap this morning, Saturday I'll get the top, Sunday the sides and back. Then Sunday afternoon, Eternabond the top seam where the aluminum roof joins the front cap. Monday will be devoted to replacing the butyl tape under the "c" channel over the seam midway down the rear cap. Monday I start over on the inside.

At seventy something I'm about out of elbow grease and looking for a 14 year old grandson that wants his own RV when he turns 16 bad enough to buff out the bad spots in the RM3. He'll get it too, along with a BSA Merit badge for two or three things he'll learn building his teardrop and as Mr Mioko said "Wax on, Wax off"..

Use a long handled soft brush with Blue Coral, Maguires, Turtle Wax or other wash/wax product and you can clean your coach and put a coat of wax on it at the same time. Using any type of dish soap, or detergent, will remove most wax protection that is already on your coach and leave you with an unprotected surface.

By the time your done it's time to start over. ;)

Camping World has a soap/wax--brush on to take dirt off and then wipe with
a dry towel. No rinsing needed. We've used this for years and it does a
great job and the finished product looks great

I actually enjoy washing the motorhome when I have time. I would say about half the time I wash it and the other half I pay someone. I feel it's good exercise. And I only use the long pole when drying. I actually climb up on the ladder and hand wash it. That way, I get good arm and leg exercise. I know at some point in the future it won't be safe to get on a ladder....... hopefully, many years ahead.

It takes me about 2.5 hrs. to wash, dry and clean the wheels. It's such a good feeling of accomplishment when it's done and I'm exhausted. LOL!

Your leaf blower, either gas or electric, will help to dry the RV before you towel dry it, or even if you just want to minimize water spots.

I use Simple Green 3 to 1 on the coach, and 1 to 1 on the roof! I use a soft bristle brush and a power washer set on the lowest settings. I never use the power washer to spray or wash any seams!
