Water pressure issues

This is our second camping trip in the new MH. Last trip the water pressure was very low. I thought it might be the campground but I was too sick to investigate. This trip the same thing. So I took the pressure regulator off (40-50 psi). Plenty of water pressure. So, now what? I'd hate to have my plumbing leak without it. What's the pressure recommendations? Do the adjustable ones make any difference.

I've had my share of campers but none this low with the regulator on. What do you people do?

  • Inside the inlet valve, where you hook the hose into your coach, check the small screen to see if it's plugged up. Three pack at WalMart cheap...carry spares. Also, if your coach has a filtration system, ensure the filters are clean and up to date....Dennis

The small in line regulators are more of the restrictor type There is two models. One has a small hole about .25 inches and the other has one that is about 3/8 inch in diameter

I tried two different regulators. One was new.

Maybe the park pressure is too low to pop that regulator. They are spring loaded.

  • Yes, the type of regulator you use can make a big difference. The inexpensive, torpedo shaped in line type will restrict the pressure.

Go to these guys and get a good one made by an RVer for RV's or go to Home Depot and put together a whole house Watts unit.

I have this and it works great.

  • I have an adjustable! Those ones you purchase from CW and RV dealers are not reliable IMHO. Before the adjustable I would run the water pump along with the water pressure to get a good shower.
