Waxing class c

Just finished polishing the Class C with Nu Finish - all except the over cab bunk area. Has anyone a suggestion how to safely reach the area. A ladder is at too great an angle and reaching it from the sides gets only part way. Any thoughts would help.

  • I use a sheetrock scaffold I got from home depot. http://www.homedepot.com/p/PRO-SERIES-6-ft-x-6-ft-x-29-in-Multi-Use-Drywall-Baker-Scaffolding-with-1000-lb-Load-Capacity-GSSI/100645165
had it delivered to the house and liked it so much I went out and wash/waxed the RV. Only problem I had was getting under the overhang. It was easier to lay down to get to it and of course once laying down one can close ones eyes and look like your working ;-) easy set up and one person operation for this 7 decade oldie.
  • park car in front of MH and put ladder against and under car so it wont slide and climb the ladder laying on MH.I put a towel under the ladder.Put it in the middle and do both sides move and do the center no danger other than climbing ladder.Hope this helps works for me.
  • I lay on the roof in the center and then hang my arms over the front cabover area to polish the top part of it. I reach into the front side areas and the area under the cabover window from an 8 foot orchard step ladder.

P.S. I get up on the roof of our Class C using it's built-in roof access ladder on the back ... I'd never buy a Class C without a built-in roof access ladder. I can't believe that this is left off some Class C motorhomes.

  • Found some kids that were doing volunteer work around the campground we were at. Asked if any would be interested in some extra cash after they finished work. Got the whole rig washed top, sides and ends. They even washed the tires. Then they went and had a party ....
  • A high school or early college kid that needs some money. Make sure they are covered under your homeowners insurance just in case.
