- FastpaddlerExplorerI lived 8 years in Japan. The video stressed the utility of their models, the parking in small garages, and was a bit over the top in exaggeration which is typical Japanese advertising. The female interviewer thanks the kids for the pizza-like pancake they prepared in the politest form of Thank You--which an adult doesnt use with children! If you see the small 4 or 6 tatami mat size apts many live in these rvs are not really small at all--in the context of sizes of accommodations in Japan. The roads are narrow, often winding and hard enough to negotiate with a car! Our Rvs wouldnt be very usable there. I enjoyed the video so thanks as it takes me back to my mostly happy years there. Rving isnt big in Japan compared to Europe or North America.

I thought it was interesting that in the video, they cut to this family cooking something on a portable grill. I was wondering what the do for a "cook-out". I assume it's not the typical red-meat thing we do. But same enjoyment, just a different twist on it.
Japanese eat lots of sushi and sashimi thats raw fish so much cooking isn't really necessary,
Meat is very expensive,
There are restaurants in Japan that have grill on the table and you can cook the meat or a hot pot yourself,,something that would never fly in our country no doubt.. :)
Raw whale anyone?

How about chicken
http://youtu.be/XI7J49qHvbY - FastpaddlerExplorerQuite right. I graduated from the Skuiji Fish Market shushi school program. You can carry your shushi kit with you on the road and use pre made sticky rice. I am not really fond of sushi with raw fish etc although I make really tasty ones--for others!I make California rolls for the kids. Rvers for sure in Japan wouldnt be doing sophisticated cooking like some of us do and their Hibachis and small grils are usually innovative but quite basic and compact. Those units wouldnt generally have showers as the Japanese will be able to use outside, clean facilities, normally.
