We also like to get off the Interstate when we can, but I am full of apprehension when we get on the 2 lane roads. If another would, for example, cross the center line there is no way I could maybe manueuver to avoid a crash like I maybe could in an automobile.
My recommendation to others is to drive defensively as much as reasonable on these roads. There are so many fools on the road that surely have burned through 7 of their 9 lives, figuratively speaking.
