Since you won't be full-timing for 5 years I think you're too early to decide on what you want. Things are going to change in 5 years - either with the kinds of RVs out there or else with your plans.
I'd look seriously at the 2016 models and pick out a few that would suit you. Then in 5 years you could search for those models. They'd be 5 years old and if it's a high quality DP you'd be saving a LOT of money but getting the best there is.
I think for all your 'wants' you are looking at a very expensive DP for buying now, 5 years before you really need it.
Thanks for your thoughts, I don't think I want to wait the full 5 years to get the rig when we are going full time. I would like to get something a few years before "I think" so by the time we go full time it's basically home the way we want it instead of going through all that while we are living in it as well, but everything is still in the air. As far as looking at new models now and picking out a few, that is exactly what we are doing. We go to the Hersey show almost every year and local shows as well so when we start to do our serious search we are familiar with the rigs and have crawled through them etc. Some of my favorites so far are the Meridian and Journey, and also love the Tuscany. They all have 36'ers and that length is the way we were initially leaning. Not opposed to 38 or 40 and as I educate myself more on the lifestyle I may come to realize that being fulltime in a 36' rig might be a bit to tight.
