Here's the best thing to remember if somebody hasn't already brought it up. When you are a new RVer all motorhomes look huge sitting on the dealers lot and not packed with any of your stuff. You'll walk into a 28 foot class C with a slide and you'll think to yourself how huge it is and it's all the space you'll ever need. So you buy it, you back all your stuff into it and about 3 days into your trip that is going to last for years, you'll realize how tiny a 28 foot motorhome is.
I currently have a 35 foot DP with 3 slides. For me, it's a little small for what I'd want if I was going to full time. If I was going to full time I'd stay under 40 feet, but no less than 38 feet. At least 3 slides with a kindsize bed, and I'd want huge basement storage compartments. I think I'd get way too cramped with anything less. And the only reason I wouldn't get a 45 footer, is I don't want to deal with the extra license and road restrictions that come with a 45 footer.
Thanks, good info.
I completely understand that and have chatted personally with many who are full time about your concerns. You are exactly right. Although we do have our eye on a couple of 36'ers that are layed out very well we are most likely going with a 40'er. Also we have been camping in a 5th wheel for 9 years so do know about utilizing and maximize storage space.
