The variety of results is sometimes really amazing.....and perplexing.
First, if what the OP is running is still called "Norton Antivirus", it is WAY outdated. The latest version is called "Norton Security". Maybe he needs to update.
I have been running Norton for YEARS and have had none of the problems that others report. Both of the above links work fine for me.
