This post should be moved to the "Full-time" forum on this site.
Success in full-timing for 16 years:
- join and become active in the Escapees RV Club
- not sitting in one spot more than two weeks, unless you're doing a volunteer gig or workamping. You'll get stagnant. :)
- drive the secondary roads, not interstates
- try different ways of RVing - RV parks, public parks, county and city parks, boondocking in awesome spots on Federal lands
- get in the mindset that things will not always be perfect. Take it a day at a time.
- volunteer in our wonderful public parks. You will be a great asset to the money-poor parks. It gives you purpose and is fun!
- If married, both parties have to willingly agree to full-timing otherwise it won't work. Needing to be close to the kids and having stuff they can't part with are big drawbacks.
- Go into it by saying "we're going to full-time", not by saying "we're going to 'try' full-timing". The first is a commitment.
- No need for an 'exit' plan. Sell the house and invest. Then if you find that ideal spot you'll be ready.
