Of course, just an opinion from one who only pays cash., present coach is 12 yr old, paid $200,000 36' 1 slide, 112k miles, no issues in 6 yrs, so I sleep well.

Believe it or not, not everyone is as great as you and can pay cash for everything.
I think that he is just trying to say that when buying something used on a budget possibly expect and be prepared for some huge bills. I personally feel that financing a used major depreciating asset that could have costly bills is a bit scary.
