Went to the repair shop to get a couple of things we needed which were in the MH which was in their to have a major exhaust manifold leak fixed and was told that the parts,"S" tube from the turbo down was in and had been installed. It wasn't s'posed to be shipped till today and installed when it got here next week. When they were inspecting her for the manifold leak, they found that the pipe had been bent somehow and the coolant hose was practically welded to it and if I had tried to drive her home after my estimate,it would have finished melting and blown all over everything. Went out and picked her up this AM and promptly managed to back it around a corner and hit a VERY small red bollard with the chrome extension and dent that. The guy who was backing me asked if I hadn't seen him signaling me to stop and I said that I was watching a car trying to get past me on the other side. OOPPSS.... I guess we all have to do it sometime.
Heading home on the freeway and the low water light came on,so I pulled off onto an offramp and found that there was a loose cap on the recovery tank and coolant,ELC, all over. Called the shop and there was a mech there in 20 minutes with a water sprayer to hose off some of the coolant and 4 gallons of ELC. it took almost 2 gals and he gave me the other two and home I went.
I parked it and got some minor maintainence items done, finished hosing down the engine compartment and covered her tires so that she would feel she was among her family again.
Notice I call the MH her and that's 'cuz she's so expensive, but worth it.
