If you are only interested in SD, I would definitely buy one of the automatic tabletop portables. I know many can set up a manual dish without a lot of struggle, but it then becomes another thing you have to do when you get to camp.
If you later decide to go with a rooftop unit, you'll still have the portable for the few times the roof top unit is blocked.
