We bought a plastic rolling laundry hamper at Walmart this year, and I really like that it makes it easier to transport heavy loads of clothes. We store ours in our shower.
I like using the laundry rooms at the RV parks because I can get several loads done at once. I try to do laundry when I have 2-3 loads, so I don't fill up all the machines at the park. I buy the detergent pods and dryer sheets instead of toting my big things of detergent and fabric softener.
I also keep several rolls of quarters (usually in medicine bottles) to feed the machines. It can be expensive doing laundry on the road, but I love not having to come home to a huge mountain of laundry.
We have kids, and I've found that it works great to do laundry while they enjoy the pool or other amenities at the campground (of course, my husband keeps an eye on them). You'll find some places have better or cheaper machines than others, but overall, I found them good to use. On our last trip, we scoped out a laundromat in town since the RV park's was busy.
Have a great trip!
