We use backpacking clothes that take less space when packed. Usually I can fit all my clothes in a 20" zipped duffle bag for two weeks. We store the duffles behind our pillows in the overhead bed. That is when the kids are using the plastic drawers in our closet.
I change every day and store dirty clothes in foldable net hampers in the shower. I have worn out a couple of these hampers but they are very inexpensive. The last two I bought for about $4 each. These were a bit smaller than my first set though. The shower can hold several of these and I can sort laundry into them and cart it to the camp laundry mat or wash back at home. I like that they store flat and I can add another to the shower if needed.
I squeegee the shower when it gets wet, both sides and bottom and dry it with a microfiber chamois so the laundry can go right back in.
Never tried to wash in the RV but the suds method sounds like a possibility. We have never taken a trip longer than a week or two.
