If your state has uninsured motorist coverage on your policy, then your insurance will work for you. Until the other drivers insurance steps up and pays the claim they are considered uninsured, technically. So, let your company work for you. But I agree, you should be on the phone with the other company this morning. Be sure they understand that you are stranded because of their drivers action.
Also, I don't think I remember you posting where your are stranded. Maybe someone on this forum is close and could lend a hand. You might give it a try.
