- stan909ExplorerAT&T is a close 2nd but eventually I know we will need Verizon when we full-time it. On a trip to the Sierra's last summer we found that areas we normally got T-mobile had actually lost coverage.
- ernie1ExplorerI always carry my sheriff department issue riot gun. It's short and compact.

How does a hi-lo jack substitute for a come-along???
One of hard to explain, but the high lift back can be used like a manual winch. The drawback is that you have to reset it every few feet. It's similar to a come along but much stronger. Search youtube for several videos.

Only Verizon is everywhere there are cell towers.
Not even Verizon. They ARE #1, but AT&T is a close second, and the overlap is far from perfect. My phone is AT&T, and my wife's is Verizon. It is not at all unusual for my phone to be the only one working. As Rockhillmanor says, having one of each is the only way to maximize availability.
Wife has Verizon and I have AT&t. Covers us in most of USA, except a few Indian reservations. - avantiExplorer

There are members here who don't have spare tires. Can you imagine that ?
Not even on my top 10 list of things to worry about. - stan909ExplorerThere are members here who don't have spare tires. Can you imagine that ?
- stan909ExplorerOnly Verizon is everywhere there are cell towers. I know this because I have T-Mobile and when we are in the Sierra's we often do not have coverage but Verizon does. There are also many places where there is no cell coverage period.

Both times we have been in trouble, there has been no cell phone service. Maybe I should add a carrier pigeon for my ERS card?
I always have 2 phones 2 different carriers in any vehicle I travel in.
With the cheap no contract phones available now it's a small price to pay for the insurance that you can make a phone call. - PRodacyExplorer
