When I purchased my 2003 Gulf stream Ultra Supreme, I drove my Toyota matrix to complete inspection and pass papers. My wife then was going to drive Matrix back home. The seller then asked if I knew anyone that needed a tow dolly? I ended up purchasing the Tow Master dolly(with electronic brakes)for 1000 dollars(1500 New). I did not have a brake controller so towed car home without one. Hardley knew car was behind me. I have since gotten a brake controller and it didn't tow( or stop) any different. Most states require brakes. Tow Master has three styles, no brakes, electronic brakes and surge brakes. I can see both arguments for and against tow dolly vs four down. This was simply the cheapest option for me.
