For moving the dolly use a swing down trailer jack.
Swivel Jacks
I bought mine at Harbor Freight for less than $30.
The one issue I've heard about surge brakes is that on long descents they are constantly on and could overheat. Electric brakes go on when you apply the brakes on the coach.
I don't have any experience with surge brakes just relaying what I've read on RV forums.

I'm not enthusiastic about dolly towing. It's just that I am not anxious to spend the money on a new car at the same time as buying a motorhome.
My biggest concerns with a dolly are:
1) Moving it around the campsite. We camp a lot at National Forest campgrounds and the aprons for RVs are not usually paved, and are often small, which means manhandling the dolly somewhere in grass and uneven ground. I'm not sure how often space to park it at the campsite may be in issue
2) Stowing it around the house. When we're not traveling, it is one more thing in the yard. I've already got a couple of boats on trailers, plus a flat trailer for hauling the lawn tractor, etc. I've been thinking of selling the flat trailer, and this will probably push me to get rid of it.
When it comes time to trade the Accord, the next car will be towable four-down!
Brakes on a dolly had occurred to me. Surge brakes seem to make the most sense. I tow a lot in mountains (Hey, I live in the higher elevations of WV!) and the surge brakes figure to add a little braking as needed on steep downhills if I've downshifted rather than using the MH's brakes so much.
I hadn't thought about some of the other items mentioned.
I've looked at Craigslist for Charleston and Roanoke with no luck finding a used dolly. Any other good places to find a used one? I suppose a new one is in budget -- I had figured on spending a couple of thousand for tow bars and to set up a vehicle for towing.
I'll look at the Remco site, but I doubt I'll be convinced of the possibility of towing the Accord without unacceptable risk.
