Why a Master Tow Dolly was my personal choice.
I own more than one towable vehicle, trade fairly often and did not want to modify multiple cars.
I own more than one vehicle that can tow another car on the tow dolly.
I can tow friends/relatives cars when needed.
Ways to make it much more convenient: add a tilt wheel tongue jack, get a model like mine that you don't have to pull out or adjust ramps. Add a class I or II or II hitch to your toad so you can easily
move the dolly when not attached to RV.
Electric or surge brakes are both fine. With surge you don't have to add a controller.
Get a spare just in case.
With a little practice the straps are actually easy. Hitched up and going down the road there is no difference in towing with a dolly or 4 down. Aside from occasionally glancing at the rear camera or mirrors you almost forget its there.
Contrary to what many say, with practice you can back them up!
Having said why I prefer mine, in all honesty 4 wheel down is easier to hook up or unhook especially for folks with physical limitations. The dolly has a big advantage in variety of use. Find a good used tow dolly and you are good to go immediatly at less cost and much more flexibilty/multiple use. Buy a 4 down vehicle when you are ready to and make the change then. You can resell the tow dolly for about what you pay used.
