I was looking for a 2015 class A gasser & after checking several brands it seems that they only come with the Ford chassis... What gives?
You've heard the rest. Now find yourself a good used WH W24 chassis and not only save a bundle of money, but you'll have the 8.1 Chevy and the Allison Transmission without auto park, as well. My choice would be a National brand and a favorite in the used market. Forget the orphan BS, if that might be a concern to you, with the basement doors being the only exclusive part and anything can be repaired or made over.
WH did produce some coaches for a couple of years after their take over, but used one of their own engines and a poor excuse of a tiny Navistar diesel, so don't be making that mistake, if you decide to go looking.
Seems that this would have been the trend, with or without the demise of the Chevy, as most companies will always use one of their own engines.
With Ford, the little V10 turned out to be a welcome surprise with it's power and durability (the newer versions, anyway) and at least, both the engine and the chassis is all Ford with service centers from coast to coast.
