I have to agree that maybe someone pulled down on it, like kids sometime do,it happened to a friend of mine.

They seem to be Velvac mirrors and they can be bought from them or a few other vendors, sometimes cheaper.

I always fold mine in while parked to lessen the chance of a kid swinging on them.
