I was disappointed the used RV we chose to buy had the U-Haul style mirrors. The ones that are a tripod of metal tubing. Of late, I've been happy to have them. 6x10 mirror heads and I added 7" round wide angle mirrors on brackets. Pretty good view and pretty low maintenance. Power adjust and HEATED would be really nice, though.
Back to this, Does wiring have to pass through that hollow post? I wonder if it could be replaced with 1. A Bolt? or 2. A Pipe or Pipe Fitting as described above? Maybe even with something attached with a quality product like JBWeld or MarineTex?
