What Happened to Triple E RV?

I've seen articles (from seemingly reputable car/truck websites)that the E-450 would be continued for some years... and others have said that it would be gone in a year or two. It seems Ford is not sticking to one story and it may depend on how quickly they can produce the Transit versions here in the US.

Triple E is going by what they are being told by Ford. Not from various rumors from the web. Fortunately their Sprinter based units are selling like hot cakes...

I've seen this mentioned before about Triple E commenting on availability of the Ford chassis, yet I haven't heard of any other MH manufacturer raising that issue. :h

Bought a 2007 Regency GT 28DB about a year ago and really like it. Quality is top notch, if not the best.
Talked to the factory a few weeks ago and they said part of the reason Triple E put the Regency on hold is availability of the Ford chassis. I really think the main reason is the concentration on the hot sellers that use the Sprinter Chassis. The Factory reassured me that proprietary componants will be kept indefinately and they can service this model for years.

That is not the optimum cold weather design to use.

With that design, if one happens to be camped in the extreme cold with full power hookups you're only coach heating choice would be to use the propane furnace to heat with instead of with electric so that warm air can get forced into the tank areas.

The best setup would be: EITHER propane furnace tank heating plus electric tank heating pads so one has a choice to not use propane and still not have tanks freeze .... OR propane furnace tank heating with built-in electric heater boost into the propane furnace fan and duct system so that the furnace burner could be turned off but still get electrically heated air to the tanks via the existing furnace fan and ducting system.

Our rig has something in between for use when on hookups in freezing weather with only electric heating pads for the tanks - but giving the choice of using the propane furnace for coach heating or portable electric heaters for coach heating.

Yes, the Libero is still available and no they no longer do any "build to order" units. LTV used to do many adjustments to customer requests back before they were purchased by Triple E... and before the high demand for their small Class C and Class B units on the Sprinters.

I actually asked if they could put the GT house on the Chevy for me and they said no. I loved the idea of the fully enclosed and separately heated tanks... and the engine assisted water heater.

Ford ran out of V10 motors in May and we never got any chassis after that and they could not guarantee us chassis until December and our factory has to build so many units every day, week and month, so we were forced into dropping the Regency program. You never know, we could build them again.

Back to the original question of "What happened to Triple E?" We have a 2012 Triple E Regency GT24MB (Grand Touring-24 foot-Murphy Bed), which we love. We e-mailed the factory last September when we heard they were discontinuing the production of these wonderful units.

Did the discontinued Triple E Class C use 12 volt DC tank heating pads or 120 volt AC tank heating pads?

I'll bet that 120 volt AC tank heating pads are the usual type installed by OEMs on new motorhomes. For drycamping in the cold, unfortunately those type tank heating pads suck more battery energy than the 12 volt DC tank heating pads because you must suffer the efficiency loss of an inverter in order to use 120 volt AC tank heating pads off batteries when drycamping. 12 volt DC tank heating pads use energy directly from the motorhome's battery bank, thus eliminating the losses from a "middle-man inverter" taking excess energy from the battery bank.

The tank heating pads in our motorhome are of the 12 volt DC type. Also, tank heating pads cycle ON and OFF - they do not run continuously. We also carry in our motorhome a very small size ultra-quiet generator (no longer available) that in the extreme cold could be left running into the night because of it's quietness to ensure that the coach batteries do not get exhausted from powering both the propane furnace system and the tank heating pads. A modern Honda 1000i generator could provide the same cold weather power as our little discontinued generator.

I may have missed it ... where does it imply or state that the Libero Class model does not have the same cold weather construction as the former discontinued Triple E Class C?
