What is this thing?

On a 2002 Monaco Windsor.

This thing is located behind the passenger seat below the overhead cabinet. It looks like some kind of sensor. Does anyone know what it is?

It's the temperature sensor for your front Tstat/AC/Heat. The rear zone is probably on the Tstat.
  • If you remove the white cover, you'll see a single wire (kind of flat on the end)behind it. That's the sensor. Often they were stuck down in the hole and will read more of the wall temp than the room temp. I always pulled them out so that they extended into the cover and then sealed the hole with putty so that they stayed out and would measure room temp and not wall temp.
  • We had two just like that in our Dynasty (3 air units). Ours were a brownish color since they were attached to the wood. They are A/C sensors.

As was mentioned above, you should see a wire with a 'bulb shaped' end piece on the end.

    MM.
  • With Monaco there is usually only one of those remote sensors if you have 2 AC units or two if you have 3 AC units. The thermostat sensor for the other AC unit is the thermostat itself.
  • I can see the picture.

It's the cover for your remote temperature sensor for your furnace and AC. You should have one for each AC. One in the front and one in the bedroom.

The thermostat control unit uses these sensors for the two (or three) zones. Front and rear.

So what is it for? Are you saying it's a light to let you know the 2nd A/C is on?

  • Why is this suddenly not allowing me to post a picture? I've never had a problem in the past.

OK, I guess it's fixed now. It would not allow me to post a picture from my Photobucket. I did it on the picture poster from RVNet and now it works.

    So never mind
