When to head to New York from Florida?

First of all, check out the campgrounds/rv parks where you plan to go and see when they open for the season as many of them don't open until sometime in May. And, in many parts of NY state, it's possible to have freezing temps at night until the end of May i.e. when we lived near Niagara Falls, we didn't plant flowers until around Memorial Day weekend or later.
